Herbeau Creations

Herbeau Creations was started by Louis Herbeau, a pipe fitter who contributed to the installation of the city’s gaslights and water pipes in Lille, France. While traveling to England, Herbeau was influenced by the different bathroom fixtures that were being produced and decided to open his own showroom in 1857. Having experience in copper pipe fitting, Herbeau was able to design and manufacture distinct copper faucets. The tradition was passed on throughout Louis Herbeau’s family, as his son and grandsons proved to be creative designers. Their designs were a great influence in the Art Nouveau, and Art Deco style times as well as today.

The different faucets that Herbeau Creations produces range from the wall mount kitchen faucet, to an array of lavatory faucets as well as their famous De Dion Basin Faucet. The lever design of the De Dion Basin faucet was inspired by grandson Jean Herbeau from the De Dion - Bouton car gear shifter. Herbeau Creations Faucets come in a wide selection of finishes ranging from satin nickel, to polished copper & brass.

Herbeau Creations does not only specialize in faucets, they produce tubs, sinks and bathroom accessories as well. Some of their other pieces of creative sanitary ware are the Herbeau Creations Dagobert Throne toilet and Herbeau Creations Medicis Copper Bathtub. The Dagobert Throne is made of solid ash and fitted with an antique style pull chain and a hand painted toilet bowl. To complete a luxurious bathroom, the Medicis Copper tub has a satin nickel interior and weathered copper exterior, complementing the Dagobert Throne.
